FAQs

Will I be on medication forever?

At Peace of Mind, LLC Wellness we believe that much like a successful weight loss program incorporates exercise and a clean eating plan for the greatest results, mental wellness has its greatest benefits when accompanied by therapy. Medication can help mitigate negative symptoms while therapy provides the coping skills to handle stress, anxiety, and depression successfully. We have successfully weaned clients off of medication they no longer desire when accompanied by a lifestyle of therapy. Please note that some mental disorders benefit from long-term use managed by an educated Provider.

How often do I need therapy?

Psychotherapy is individual. Collaboratively, you and your Provider will discuss your current goals, and needs while crafting a treatment plan that is just right for you. Most psychotherapy sessions meet weekly to biweekly but in times of crisis 2-3 times a week maybe more beneficial.

Are the things we share in therapy confidential?

Confidentiality is a core value in therapy, and an essential component of the client psychotherapist relationship. Therapy explores both positive and negative experiences and establishing trust is imperative in forming a therapeutic bond for growth and healing. Peace of Mind, LLC Wellness requires a release of records form to be completed to forward documentation to any parties requesting documentation, to ensure privacy is maintained.

State Law and professional ethics require confidentiality except in the following circumstances:

  • Suspected past or present child, adult, and/or elder abuse and neglect

  • Suspicion of serious harm/danger to self or others
