This Morning Routine Will Improve Your Mood

Good Morning!

Small changes in your morning routine can make a huge difference in the success of your overall day. Instead of grabbing your phone and scrolling through social media when waking, immediately say THANKS out loud for the ability to have another day. Being thankful is a form of gratitude and gratitude naturally releases Serotonin and Dopamine- happy chemicals. Below we have listed 5 other ways to a happier morning.

Happy Step 1:

Don’t delay the day with snooze. Instead get up and make your bed. This simple practice increases Dopamine.

Play a song you love while in the shower. This simple practice is invigorating and a mood booster and naturally increases Endorphins.

Brush your teeth and splash cold water on your face. This simple practice arouses your senses and increases the release of Dopamine.

Go outside for 10-20 min. Nature has a way of nurturing our souls and being outside allows us to gaze at the majestic creation, creating clarity, and reflection. This simple practice increases Serotonin.

Drink a cup of herbal tea. Many choose to drink coffee, but caffeine is known to create anxiety and depression, so an herbal tea is a better choice for your morning happy routine. Get creative with your tea blends, add fresh ginger, mint, lemon, and honey (Natalie’s favorite :). This simple practice increases the release of Serotonin.
